The serial number on the left is 2287 and on the right it is 12287. According to Thian's "Register", Nulty & Hatch (who signed this note) signed 2287 but not 12287. So the 12287 serial number is incorrect.
This note is a 2nd Series T26. A comment in Fricke's 2014 Field Edition states this regarding 2nd series notes - "All are between serial number 1 and 12100; higher serial numbers are fakes or alterations." Thian's "Register" concurs.
Granted, the 12287 on this note is an obvious mistake. However, it makes the paragraph above untrue. There is now one note with a serial number above 12100 that is not a fake or alteration.
