Originally issued in Jackson Oct 14, 1862 & re-issued. The re-issuance reads " Issd From 5th Aprl, 1863  a c s 7th Rgt T M V" .This note was re-issued by Hector R. McLean - the Assistant Commissary of Subsistence ( acs ) of the 7th Texas Cavalry - more frequently known as the Texas Mounted Volunteers ( TMV ).

It is possible that this note was re-issued near Bayou Teche Louisiana as 7 days after it's re-issuance, the TMV fought at the battle of Camp Brisland, La.  However, it is questionable that the ACS would be there.

There are only two notes known to have this manuscript. Per one of the trainmen, the other one was once part of Robert Ares' collection.

With three cornerfolds, I'd give this an XF-AU. PCGS gives it a 40 Extremely Fine.

Being a Texan, I have decided not to sell this note. It is almost one of a kind.
